What to do if you dont have a CRN?

If you haven’t received a payment and don’t have a CRN, then you’ll need to visit a Centrelink service centre, confirm your identity and staff will create a CRN for you.

If you haven’t got a payment from us, you’ll need go to a service centre with photo ID. We’ll create a CRN for you and your child. Check your child’s CRN using your Centrelink online account through myGov or the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app.

Please contact Centrelink to request your online services access to be unlocked. You can send a message via our secure internet messaging service, which will enable you to request help with the registration process.

How do I get a CRN for a new child?

You can do this by completing the application form at the Department of Human Services’ website. You will need your CRN, your child’s CRN and your last payment amount from Centrelink. If you don’t have a CRN you will need to telephone Centrelink on 136 150 or visit a Centrelink office.
